DiL kAbaDdi

Its about Saturday morning (20th Dec 2008) .I woke up at 9am.. As pravin had come from mumbai to enjoy the weekend, we decided to go for a movie.we zeroed down on Dil Kabbadi, a comedy….. having Irfan Khan, Rahul Bose & Konkana (All my favorite ).. But in the morning I had a meeting at my TL's flat. So i went there first. I was not aware about the theater for "Dil Kabaddi". At the end of the meeting i asked my TL to google for Dil Kabaddi in Pune.. It show the result that its only running in E-square and timing is 9pm. it was not in my plan to watch the movie late night in E-square. But we went there.. I thought its a comedy.. but when it started i came to know that it not just a comedy, but a sex comedy.. I was watching this show in E-square after 9pm on Saturday.. so just glanced around..to ma dismay 40% was female population.. all seemed to be from higher middle class..who were laughing freely on Sex jokes.. if some conservative thinkers would be there to watch this movie.. they must surely have left after 10-15minutes. Indians, especially the lower middle class avoids sex-talk or jokes, bcoz of their conservative attitude.. I reached E-square by 9.15pm so 15 minutes of ma movie had gone and only 5 tickets were left to be sold.. so we got 2 easily & luckily.. but of the first row :( . On the right hand, there was a couple and on left, an elderly uncle in his 40s with 10yr old son. That couple left early bcoz girl was not interested in this kind of a movie. But uncle was watching with his son, but not laughing at all and the boy was unable to understand the jokes to laugh on. But I really enjoyed the movie with the changing culture of d soc in a semi metro like pune …may be the jokes wer just too vulgur for a few …..bt d reality is tht Indian cinema is getin bolder n better with such experiments …….three cheers for d fabulous effort!!!
